238. Tampopo (1985)
Country: Japan
Directed by Juzo Itami
Sometimes, a masterpiece comes when you are not expect it at all. This is a case of 'Tampopo' that is labeled as a simple comedy regarding a windower who struggles to make her noodle shop succeed but ends up to be a landmark for the world cinema. The best movie about food ever made it is in reality a hymn for the existence, for the passion for life, for the interaction with fellow humans, for the privillage to be alive. Itami blends different movie genres, evokes all the kinds of the feelings to the viewers, blends sex with food unforgetably, boosts you with a large amount of optimism, in a film that in terms of scenario, directing and editing is extremelly inovative. I can't praise enough
