Sometimes naive and simplistic , balancing between the comedy , the musical and the drama, this movie still is well directed and an important moment of Thai cinema as it attacks to the social order depicting the injustice and inequality of the society as rarely we seen before. Upper classes, corrupted to the core and supported by the police and the whole system, just exploit the poor who in order to survive are obliged to involve in prostitution or in drug dealing. The movie doesn't hesitate to show us the slums that are invisible , as I know, in all Thai movies of the era, even if is doing it lightly and playful in order to avoid the censors. Euthana Mukdasanit choose to not make us feel better with a happy end: the social reality is hard and he doesn't want to sugar the pill
